Package Overview
| Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be given VIP status to clear customs whereupon your private chauffeur-driven Mercedes will be waiting to take you to The Four Seasons Cairo at The Residence.
After settling into your suite overlooking the pyramids and meeting your private butler, you will visit the sumptuous Spa and Wellness Centre for a fabulous Pharaonic Massage. This luxurious treatment was once the sole reserve of Egyptian royalty and involves a body massage with individually chosen Egyptian aromatic oils. A heated poultice of aromatic herbs is used to soothe muscles, nourish the skin and induce relaxation providing an experience as spiritual as it is physical. Relaxed and refreshed, you can make your way to the Seasons Restaurant at the hotel, an elegant and serene restaurant overlooking Cairo and the River Nile - where dinner will be served. After-dinner cocktails will be held in the Library Bar before a visit to the Casino by special invitation.
The next morning, you will awake to a fascinating lecture and breakfast with Dr. Zahi Hawass, Director General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, whose responsibilities include overseeing all archaeological activities in Egypt. An accomplished speaker who has lectured all over the world, Dr. Hawass will talk to you about some of the highlights of his distinguished career in Egyptology and archaeology revealing his personal insights into the mysteries of the pyramids and the Sphinx.
After your talk with Dr. Hawass, you will get the opportunity to view the awe-inspiring pyramids with your private Egyptologist. Built for the Pharaohs Cheops, Chefren and Mycerinus, the Pyramids of Giza will entrance you as you ponder the fascinating mystery of their existence and explore the ancient burial chambers within. The Great Pyramid of Cheops is the only present-day survivor of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, covering 13 acres of land at its base. Following this tour you will enjoy an exclusive and private visit to the Valley Temple, which houses the mysterious Sphinx. At this point, you will have the rare opportunity to stand at the very feet of the Sphinx, the enclosure surrounding the immediate vicinity of the Sphinx is in fact closed to the public and we have been granted special permission to access it. You can then discuss your discoveries over lunch at the five-star Naguib Mahfouz restaurant, where you will feast on traditional oriental dishes.
After lunch, you will visit the Citadel and take a fascinating tour of Islamic Cairo; starting with the ancient Citadel, a spectacular medieval fortress perched on a hill above the city. Then it's time to return to the hotel for you to prepare for a very special private dinner with local dignitaries and a surprise guest who is Egypt's most famous celebrity resident.
The next day, you will rise early for breakfast and enjoy a morning visit to Memphis and Saqqara. Founded around 3100 BC during the Old Kingdom, Memphis is the legendary city of Menes, the King who united Upper and Lower Egypt. Sakkara is home to the Step Pyramid, the oldest known of Egypt's 107 pyramids built by Imhotep, one of the world's most famous historical figures. Following this fascinating visit, you will enjoy lunch at Mena House, Khan El Khalili restaurant.
After returning to your hotel to freshen up, you will be whisked away to the heart of Cairo to enjoy a private opening of the Egyptian Museum. Taking place after working hours, the museum will be open exclusively for you as you take your time to admire the artifacts and explore the lush gardens scattered with original Pharaonic statues and monuments.
On your final day, a Mercedes will take you to Cairo International Airport for your flight to Luxor where you will once again have VIP status and be met by a private car. You will then visit the Valley of Kings and view wonders such as Seti I Tomb, Tomb of Nefertari, Karnak Temple and the Luxor Temple. The experience will be capped by a gourmet lunch created especially for you by your own private chef on a Felucca (typical Egyptian sailing boat) while you cross the Nile to the East Bank.
Finally, a private car will transfer you back to Cairo where you will board your return flight home. Alternatively, we can arrange for you to stay overnight in suite at the Winter Palace and return to Cairo the next morning.
